Summer meals are available during the pandemic! You can get meals “grab and go” style for kids 1-18, no application necessary.

Find Meals

The Summer Food Service Program aka “Summer Meals” is available in hundreds of communities throughout Oregon, offering free meals and snacks to ALL kids ages 1-18. Community summer meal programs are open to all families without paperwork, income verification, and regardless of immigration status. To receive a meal, kids can just drop in during a site’s designated meals times. Many programs also offer fun activities so kids can stay active and keep learning.

Summer Meals and COVID-19

Meals are still being served throughout Oregon, with social distancing rules in place. The way that meals are delivered can vary by school district or organization, including:
    • Picking up a meal “grab and go” style directly from a meal site
    • Home delivery directly to a student’s home
    • Delivery by previous school bus route to a meal pick-up hub
    • Not requiring a child to be present if a parent or guardian is picking up the meal
    • Providing breakfast and lunch for multiple days at a time
Please note that these methods for serving meals are not universal, it will vary by district or organization. The best way to find out your local information is to check in with your school district or organization to see how they are serving meals.

Help Us Bridge the Gap

Help Us Bridge the Gap

During the school year, tens of thousands of Oregon children eat school meals each day. However, when school ends for the year, so does this important source of nutrition. Hunger-Free Oregon helps to bridge this gap by connecting communities and families to summer meals.
